The cost of fixing damage to a family home after a teenage party has gone up to £162 on average, a new survey has found.
Research carried out by home insurance provider, Allianz Your Cover reported an increase of £45 from that which was found in the equivalent study last year.
A total of 14% of those surveyed said their homes had been damaged in parties thrown by their children, with burns on upholstery and stains of carpets the worst offences.
Parties thrown by boys are more likely to result in broken furniture with those hosted by girls creating more general rubbish, the research which took 2,000 parents into consideration found.
